It was reported that West Brom are eyeing the Coventry City player as a replacement for Turkish midfielder Okay Yokuslu who will return to Celta Vigo in the Spanish top flight after his loan spell with the Baggies. The ball winner joined West Brom on loan during the winter transfer window as they tried to escape demotion from the English top flight and the Celta Vigo loanee was one of the Baggies’ best players during the second half of the season but he could not lead West Brom to Premier League safety.

West Brom have moved to replace Yokuslu in their team by identifying Coventry City defensive midfielder Hamer as his replacement. Hamer impressed for the Sky Blues in the English Championship as he helped his team to safety in his debut campaign with many games to spare.

Coventry City paid over £1m to sign Hamer and that transfer fee is almost certain to increase if the Baggies want to sign him this summer.

In other news, Coventry City have been linked with a move for Charlton Athletic striker ChuksAneke. It was reported by TeamTalk that the Sky Blues are one of the clubs keen on the player.

Aneke is a hot cake amongst several teams in the English Championship after he found the back of the net 15 times in League One during the just concluded campaign. Three other teams in the second tier want to sign Aneke this summer apart from Coventry City and they are Bristol City, Queens Park Rangers (QPR) and Middlesbrough.

The strike rate from former Arsenal starlet Aneke is impressive considering that he scored those 15 goals in just 11 starts from the 38 games played for the Addicks.
