NO MCKENZIE TRANSFER FOR COVENTRY CITY

Coventry City won’t be signing Robbie McKenzie this summer according to the report from Coventry Live. English Championship outfit Coventry City are in the hunt for new players this summer and they have been seriously linked with a move for Gillingham star McKenzie.


23-year-old McKenzie has been linked with Coventry City on the back of a very good season for Gillingham in League One thoughCoventry Live reporter Andy Turner is certain that the Sky Blues are not interested in the versatile player. McKenzie can play in defence or midfield as he has demonstrated for Gillingham on numerous occasions.On McKenzie, Turner said the Hull-born man won’t be signing for Coventry City.

Despite the report from Turner, Gillingham will still face a big fight to hold on to the services of McKenzie after they suffered relegation to League Two at the end of the just concluded League One season. Gillingham manager Neil Harris will almost certainly lose the services of McKenzie with several teams interested in the player. Harris and Gillingham would do well to hold on to McKenzie in their quest to return to League One immediately.

McKenzie has been an important player for Gillingham since he was signed two years ago. The versatile player has an attacking return of four goals and five assists in his 84 games for Gillingham over a two-year period. McKenzie was a regular for the various youth teams at hometown club Hull City before he made his professional debut for the first team during a League Cup clash with Doncaster Rovers in August 2017. The utility player then went on to make 34 appearances for the first team under the guidance of manager Nigel Adkins before he was released by the club a few years ago. He has not looked back since his Hull City exit.
