ANDY ROSE FIRED COVENTRY TO VICTORY OVER BRADFORD CITY

Andy Rose, 26-year old midfielder scored the lone goal that separated Coventry and Bradford in a highly intriguing game at home. Rose came off the sidelines during the encounter to provide the edge over 10-man Bradford City.

The player made instant impact immediately he came into the game with a shot that came off the bar after latching onto Adam Armstrong’s header. Bradford, whose outside hopes of automatic League One promotion have now all but gone, went close through efforts from Josh Cullen and Jamie Proctor. The team sits in fifth position with 71 points from 43 games.

Bradford tried holding on but the night couldn’t have been worse when substitute Steven Davies was sent off for an off-the-ball incident. This made The Bantams drop to fifth but stay in the play-off spots. On the other hand, Coventry are in 11th position, six points away from the top six teams even after their second win in four days.

Sky Blues Coach Tony Mowbray told BBC Coventry & Warwickshire:

“Andy Rose is a good player. He has a great future at this club. I had a long chat with him before the game, as he was the only change from the weekend.

“He is a fantastic athlete. He is 6ft 2ins, he can head it, he can run, he can spray long passes. His time is going to come. Continue reading “ANDY ROSE FIRED COVENTRY TO VICTORY OVER BRADFORD CITY”

SlavenBilić is the successor of Sam Allardyce at West Ham United

SlavenBilic is the manager who was selected to replace Sam Allardyce as the new coach in charge of the Premier League club. Modifications have not only been done within the coaching staff of West Ham United but also in the actual squad with new signings being made while some others players have had to exit the Boleyn Ground.

The Croatian manager has already guided the team to an Europa League first qualifying round victory against FC Lusitans and also managed to secure a 3-3 tie when facing off with Peterborough United.

Darren Randolph, Stephen Hendrie, Pedro Obiang and DimitriPayet are a few of the summer signings that have been signed to West Ham United.

Mark Noble is a player of West Ham United who has been performing with the Premier League club since 2004 and has recently stated that in order for his team to compete against some of their rivals in the top tier English league, they will have to spend start spending a significant amount of cash and lure top players but West Ham United has already managed to sign a number of players in the summer transfer window but they are still attempting to add a few more performers and offload more cash as a way to reinforce the squad and help them in staying in the Premier League.

A few days after SlavenBilic made his arrival to the Boleyn Ground and was officially announced as the new manager, in one of his initial speeches, the Croatian manger praised the former coach Sam Allardyce as Allardyce left a squad that was not left broken down or anything for that matter. Tony Mowbray wants to snatch some youth players from Tottenham Hotspur

Signing players on loan deals is a great way to reinforce a team without having to spend big bucks and this is what Tony Mowbray of Coventry City wants to accomplish during this summer. There are a few youth players from the Under-21 development squad of Tottenham Hotspurs that have received the attention of the coach of Coventry City and he will be attempting to sign them on season long loan deals.

Tony Mowbray has been meeting up with the head chiefs of Tottenham discussing the possibility of whether or not signing a few of the younger players can be done.

Grant Ward is one of the players that were in the wish-list of Tony Mowbray. Ward is a 20 year old midfielder who has impressed Mowbray as the youngster played with Coventry City in the last season and helped the English League One club in staying safe away from the bottom relegation zone.

Ward had a contract with Coventry City which expired in this past season but Tony Mowbray wants to keep hold of the youngster and extend his contract for at least another year. Even though Grant Ward is only 20 years old, he has already showed glimpses of brilliance and he was even voted as the fans’ man of the match during a 2-0 victory of Coventry City against Fleetwood which is an impressive accomplishment for such a young player. Tony Mowbray’s appointment lifted Coventry City

Tony Mowbray’s appointment appeared to immediately lift Coventry City after they managed back-to-back victories in the league. A narrow 3-2 win over Chesterfield was followed by a comfortable 2-0 victory over Fleetwood Town.

The fact that both these victories came away from home gave the team a lot of confidence going into the home match against Doncaster Rovers. Another victory would have provided them with a great buffer over the relegation zone. As it is, a 3-1 defeat means that Coventry still sit on the edge of being relegated. Mowbray was left disappointed with the outcome of the match.

During the early part of the season, home form appeared to be the crucial reason if the club to stay in the League One. Between the star and September, the club managed four victories in front of their own fans. Since then, however, the club has managed only one victory at the Coventry stadium and it came towards the end of February. Rediscovering the home form will be very crucial if the club are to avoid relegation. For most of the second half, the club has been happy to play away from home. This is largely because of the opportunity to counter-attack, but the new tactics under Mowbray may limit the opportunities. Continue reading “Tony Mowbray’s appointment lifted Coventry City”
