MANCHESTER UNITED FIRST TEAM SHAPING UP

Manchester United began their pre-season tour with victory against A-League outfit Perth Glory last Saturday. Star forward Marcus Rashford and James Garner scored the goals to kick-off the pre-season.

 During the game manager, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer used 23 players as he rotated his first team. After the victory attention turns to the Red Devils clash against Leeds United on Wednesday and Solskjaer could make additional changes to the team.

The Norwegian is experimenting with his best 11 and he could feasibly field the lineup that could face Chelsea in the Premier League on opening day.

Solskjaer has already revealed that David de Gea would start in the game against Leeds and a defensive line of Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Axel Tuanzebe, Victor Lindelof and Luke Shaw. This is most likely to be the got to the lineup for the club next season.

Paul Pogba, NemanjaMatic and Scot McTominay could feature from the start in the midfield bringing creativity and stability.

Upfront Anthony Martial would be expected to start on the left and Daniel James on the left as both players would add width and goalscoring threat. Meanwhile Marcus Rashford would be expected to lead the line on Wednesday.

Meanwhile on the transfer front Manchester United have made strides and have been linked with a move for several players. United are looking to bring in Portuguese midfielder Bruno Fernandes in the coming days.

The Portuguese international is valued at £70 million and has been constantly linked with a move to the Red Devils. It is thought that the club are hopeful of completing the deal by the end of the week.

Leicester midfielder James Maddison has also been heavily linked to the club with reports suggesting that the Old Trafford outfit is preparing a huge bid for his services.

The former Coventry City midfielder is regarded as one of the top creative young midfielders in the EPL and manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is keen on the England u21 international.
